The Professional Footballers Matchplay Championship in aid of the Willow Foundation 5th-7th May
The event will start on bank holiday Sunday 5th May, with the team event of 3 golfers and 1 footballing legend, where the winning team will gain free entry into the Footballers Golf Classic at La Manga the following year. The footballers individual score from the team event will be recorded and the top 16 Stableford scores will then qualify for the Matchplay event the following morning. Monday the 6th will see 8 x 2 x balls go head to head, followed by 4 x 2 x balls in the afternoon. The Semi-final will take place on the morning of Tuesday 7th, with the final in the afternoon. The winning professional footballer will receive a prize of £5,000, plus an event Jacket and Trophy, with the runner-up receiving £2,500. The event is being held at the Essendon Golf Club, Hertfordshire and teams cost £450.00 + VAT for 3 people. Price includes breakfast, dinner & 18 holes of golf. We are delighted to be supporting Bob Wilson's charity the 'Willow Foundation' during this event and help provide some special days for seriously ill 16-40 year olds.
