On October 8, 2015 numerous Arsenal starsof yesteryear will come together at Emirates Stadium to celebrate the career of one of the Gunners' great midfielders, Eddie Kelly. Eddie travelled to north London to sign as an aprentice aged 15 in 1966 and left the club 10 years later with 222 games under his belt, 19 goals, the 'double' and the Fairs Cup. Famously, he grabbed an equalising in extra time in the 1971 FA Cup Final - the first-ever substitute to score in the final - and he also scored a crucial winner against Stoke in the penultimate matchof the league campaign to propel Bertie Mee's team to the title.
"Eddie remains one of the legends of Arsenal Football Club," says his skipper in that famous season Frank McLintock. "I remember clearly his arrival at the Club when he was only 15, at last I had someone who could understand my Scottish brogue! And he came through the youth ranks to play a crucial role in us becoming only the second team in 72 years to win the 'double', which was very difficult to do back then.
"Eddie was a terrific player," Frank adds"He was knowledgeable about the game and a great asset to the Club. But like many players of that era he has found it difficult after his football career, which was certainly not as lucrative as it istodayand often very challenging to find a career after retiring".
"We are delighted to have the oppurtunity to hold an event in Eddie's honour at Emirates Stadium and welcome all suporters to what will be a very memorable and nostalgic evening," says Frank.

The organisation and help before, and during, the event is superb and all done with a cheery smile and extraordinary patience and understanding! As you know, we brought along some of our important customers and from a hosts point of view it is a perfect event as all I have to worry about is spending time with them and everything else is taken care of. I am very hopeful that we will be there again in 2016 to enjoy what must be one of the top 'all standard' amateur golf competitions anywhere in the world.”
